400 Feet of 66”RSC250 Pipe and a 66”RSC250 X 30 Degree Elbow

    Water Conveyance

    Delta, British Columbia

The City of Delta’s Irrigation system called for a drainage of the old flood box by installing wet wells. Demolition and removal of the existing pipe and then bedding, placement and welding of the new 66”RSC250 pipe. A flange connection to the existing flood box pump was required before backfilling and compaction followed accordingly.

The main challenge at hand was the problematic drainage of the site; wet wells were created in order to allow the water levels to drop. Infra Pipe’s technicians and engineers remained at the site continuously until dry conditions prevailed which allowed the welding process to take place.

The new pipe material had to be light and easy to handle. All joints had to be ID and OD welded in field in order to sustain the 7 PSI working pressure. HDPE Weholite manufactured by Infra Pipe in Canada was chosen to complete the job which was installed in the summer of 2017.
